Amanda & Eric: Glimpse

March 9, 2010

After you get your pictures taken, it’s like waiting for Christmas to come. It seems like it takes FOR-E-VER to see a single image that you spent so much time preparing for, doesn’t it? While preparing to get your pictures taken, tons of questions cloud your brain. What do I wear? How should I do my hair? Where should we go for pictures?  All legitimate questions that seem to exhaust your mind until you make a decision. When everything is finally decided, the picture day comes and none of those questions matter anymore. It’s all about you, your life, your love, and you end up having so much fun together that you forget your “taking pictures”, right? And THEN it’s seriously like waiting for Christmas when you were a kid. I know. WE KNOW how it feels. I promise, we don’t like to make you wait. It’s just that when we have so many amazing people want us to document their lives, we make sure we spend quality time with each client’s images. So, to get you MORE excited about seeing your pictures and to tide you over until you can see them, we give you a sneak-peek. And to get you excited about your sneak-peek, we give you:

A GLIMPSE.

So, here is a glimpse of Amdanda and Eric’s beautiful wedding. We can’t wait to share more!

Stephen & Amber: Wedding

February 16, 2010

Amber and I were in choir together. We would sneak off to the back practice rooms with our other friend, Amy, to “practice” for Solo and Ensemble. Well, I think we each sang our songs once, then for the rest of the time would talk and laugh about life as a high school student. There are not many people that you know would always be there for you if you ever needed them, but I know Amber is one of those friends.

When Amber told me she was marrying Stephen Burge, who we also went to high school with and whose dad is the proud owner of TumbleWeed BBQ in Stephenville and Cresson (holla!), I was so happy for her. It’s always amazing to me the way that God brings people together. Even though we all went to high school together, Amber and Stephen didn’t start dating until college. When they sat on my living room couch together for our initial consultation, it was SO evident that their love for one another was just overflowing. I’ve never seen Amber so happy, and Stephen was so caring in the way he spoke to her. I love to see true love.

On January 23rd, Amber & Stephen joined their lives together as husband and wife. I am 100% confident that they will be in love until they are grey headed, because their commitment was absolute and incredibly noticeable. I’m so so happy for them and I was so honored that they chose me to be their photographer.

Stephen and Amber, I love you both! You are so dear to my heart and I wish you a lifetime full of joy! I hope you love the images we got at your wedding… They are definitely in my top favorites!

You know that a girl with the name Cricket has to be fabulous. I seriously fell in love with this couple when I met them. They are so amazing together… just happy and so so in love. When I did Cricket’s bridals (that I have yet to post… aaahh), I saw how amazing Cricket looked in her beautiful dress, and I just KNEW she was going to make Derek cry on their wedding day. I think Cricket’s dress is one of my favorites so far!

Cricket and Derek got married at the Ashton Hotel in downtown Ft. Worth. The location was just amazing, but the wedding party was SO much more amazing! They were a HOOT! I loved how they were up for anything… easy going… and just ready to celebrate the day. It’s honestly an ideal situation when the wedding party is relaxed and up for anything when it comes to pictures. I can get better/more creative pictures if everyone just goes with the flow. I think you will see what I mean when you see the images we captured!

Cricket and Derek, I’m so thankful that you chose me to be your wedding photographer. I truly am blessed to have met you and I’m so glad I got to be with you on your wedding day. You are fabulous couple and I hope you have a wonderful life together! :)

Donna Dozier (auntieDonna): You definitly caught "the moments" we enjoyed you girls also which helps in the out come of the photos

****** 9 DAYS AND COUNTING UNTIL THE LAUNCH *******

I went to high school with Lensie. She was a year younger than me, but we crossed paths a lot since we had mutual friends, and we became friends along the way. Lensie was always sweet, seemingly quiet, and very very smart. She’s one of those girls with an incredible amount of both natural beauty and book sense…. She could probably win a beauty contest and spelling bee in the same hour and never take pride in either of them. Lensie, she’s just beautiful inside and out.

I met Drew in college. He and Eric (my hubby) were in the same dorm and played a lot of late night poker together. We were all on the same intramural football and softball teams, so we spent quite a bit of time together. Drew always cracked me up. He and Eric are a lot alike in that they are both competitive and comedic…. so of course, we were all friends. When I first saw Drew and Lensie together, we were all at Paradigm, a Thursday night college Bible study. I never would have put the two together in my own mind, but seeing them together was just normal. It just fit. Like two puzzle pieces. Lensie’s sweet and gentle spirit combined with Drew’s leadership qualities just made for a perfect match. It was no surprise to me when I found out they were getting married.

What did surprise me was after Lensie booked me to do their wedding, I found out she was related to both Mikka and JP, whose weddings I was also booked to shoot. CRAZY! So, I happily agreed to document Drew and Lensie’s adventure to wedded bliss. We shot their engagement session back in August and had a blast. I knew the wedding was going to be super fun. Of course, it was. So… you want to see pictures, don’t you? Good, because of got some for you!

First, I want to say thank you so much to Drew and Lensie for trusting me with you wedding images. It really is a priveledge to be chosen to document someones journey. Really. I know I say it all the time, but I truly mean it from the bottom of my heart. You bless me by allowing me to photograph you! So thank you again. I pray for God to bless your marriage immensly. Together, you will have amazing opportunities for ministry and I pray that you can fulfill them and bless God and others. Love you guys!!
