Nathan and Lindsey are some cool cats. A lot of times new clients will show up a little timid about having someone take their picture, but not these two. They came ready and willing to strut their stuff, and BOY did they! The first image is a picture from the beginning of the session, and doesn’t Lindsey look awesome? Get it, girl. So, the 3 of us (and Lindsey’s super cool mom) walked around the Stockyards in Ft. Worth stopping at places that pleased my photographic eye. I think we got some really great shots, if I do say so myself. :) It was so easy to photograph them. Lindsey has an infectious smile, and you just can’t help but join in with all the smiling. Nathan is such a jokester. He could make a mime laugh, I swear. So, between the two of them, I really enjoyed capturing some great candid moments. There were SOOO many of them laughing with each other, I couldn’t edit them all (this late, anyway…… notice it’s 2:30 am…. LOL!). After our session tonight, we had dinner at a fun little Mexican restaurant. It was so great getting to know a little bit about them and their story (which I will share sometime), and not to mention I enjoyed my nachos (probably too much, ha!). Nathan and Lindsey are such a great couple and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next summer.  Thank you guys for the fun tonight! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Have you ever…

April 23, 2009

Met a model? WELL, not only have I met one, I photographed one! Her name is Brooke and she is an aspiring “Parts Model.” If you’ve never heard of it (which I hadn’t), you can be a model for only specific parts of your body. For instance, all her life, Brooke’s friends and family have insisted that she be a foot model. When she called me asking to photograph her feet, I couldn’t WAIT to see what a model foot is supposed to look like (I knew it definitely wasn’t the type that I have… ha)! Sure enough, Brooke’s feet are the PERFECT candidates for modeling shoes, toe-nail polish, etc. They are pretty feet. I believe Brooke is going to make it big as a foot model! See her rockin’ feet:

Cardboard Testimonies

April 13, 2009

This is an awesome video that our media guy, Peter, put together of the Cardboard Testimonies we had at StoneWater yesterday. No, the audio is not SWBand (audio sounded bad on the recording). Even though I saw the testimonies 3 times yesterday, I watched it again twice last night and cried both times. Get your tissues.

amyc: The video has been removed by the user? Huh? I SOOOO wanted to see this!

What happens in January…

February 3, 2009

STAYS in January. Okay, so January was a ssssllllloooowwww month for me in photography. It’s COLD. It’s DREARY. And no one wants to drag their families out into the January weather to take some pictures. It’s okay, because it’s now February! The month of new opportunities! Yay! Not to mention, my birthday is this month too. Anyway, I have a shoot on Friday and was contacted by several people this week about taking pictures. Thank you GOD! I’ve missed my camera so much! I mean, when I don’t have a “real” reason to take pictures, I like to make up reasons. Like this one. This one is called, “Eric, rake some leaves and throw the puppies in them and I’ll take their picture!”

Or, I might just bring my camera along to the move in day at the school our church has moved to. By the way, the move went GREAT and we had about 1400 people on Sunday! PRAISE GOD! WOW!

And finally, I would NEVER miss taking my camera to my Grandpa’s 84th birthday party at Babe’s, as he danced like a chicken, and Granbury Live where he enjoyed a country music show. My family had so much fun!

Well, that’s all the excitement for January. Like I said, it should stay there. Moving on to February. Hopefully nicer weather and more shoots. :)

amyc: LOVE your Grandpa! :) I also love the one of the guys all pointing at the same thing... too funny... These all look great, Ashley! I can't wait to see what you do this month!

Fun in Funky Town

December 19, 2008
So, my wonderful husband asked me on a date last night. If you know me and my crazy schedule from this past semester, you know that this is a special thing. I mean, we haven’t been on a “real” date in months. I know…. it’s sad, but it’s not because we didn’t want to! So we went to Ft. Worth downtown and ate at P.F. Changs (delightful) and walked around with piping hot Starbucks in our hands. It was great. What’s even better? A wide angle lens to go along with me. Yup. It’s new and I like it. Sigma 10-20. My hubby even let me use him as my model for the evening. He’s so sweet (and not to mention a fantastic model… hehe). Anyway, so I’ve never shot with a wide angle lens before, but it’s fun. I’m just learning what all it can do, but here’s a preview of some of the fun we had.

I’m just amazed how wide it is. I mean, I was standing right on the corner…

Standing ohhh…. maybe 1 1/2 feet away from his head! lol

Back to ol’ faithful (Tamron 28-75 2.8) for the next couple shots

I think this shot is cool! I said “Eric stop! I think I can do something!” Lo and behold, I can! LOL!

More wide angle…

Chucks = Cool band-y shoes

Could this be Eric Wilkins’ solo album cover? I think so…. ha

We definitely tried to go to the top of some really tall tower… until some lady told us security would stop us. LOL. Self portrait!

AmyC: I love it, Ashley! Looks like tons of fun, both the date & the wide angle! GREAT pictures!

Jen Sprayberry: The kids are loving the pics of Eric (and even the little sneak peak of you in the reflection). Sarah keeps saying "I see air-gik and ash-wee"

Lissa Michelle: I found your blog through Misti's, and I just wanted to say that you take some awesome pictures! Do you do it professionally? I also wanted to say that I love your music- my family has been visiting StoneWater and I love listening to you. Sorry, I don't mean to be a creepy Blogger-Stalker. LOL!
