Double Knot Workshop

June 4, 2010

It’s approaching quickly! We are a little more than one month out from the first ever Double Knot Workshop! We are SO excited about sharing our joy for photography, networking, meeting new friends, and hopefully seeing a couple old ones! We wanted to let everyone know that we have just a few spots available for our workshop, so if you’ve been thinking about signing up, NOW is the time! We are limiting the workshop to only 10 people! :)

Here’s the scoop one more time!

*To all who have signed up or are about to sign up, we will be sending out a questionnaire within the next couple of days to see what YOU most want to learn. We want to spend time on topics you want to learn more about! We can’t wait to hear from you!

What is it? It’s a one-day workshop for photographers who are just starting out and need a little help to get moving in the direction they want to be going! We want to provide you with lots of one-on-one attention so that you can learn exactly what YOU want to learn! We will be covering a variety of topics such as: posing (or how to make it look like they’re NOT posing!), lighting, how to make the camera do exactly what you want it to, what to do with the pictures once you’ve taken them, and a LOT more! How MUCH more? Well, probably more about websites, camera gear, branding, how to get your business going, and plenty of Q&A time! The day will also include a photo shoot with models, yummy food to eat, and great opportunities for networking with other photographers! How much better can it get?

Who is it? It’s US (Micah and Ashley… of course!)

When is it? July 15th (yes, THIS July!) from 10AM-6PM

Where is it? Granbury, TX – Exact location is TBA (stay tuned!!)

How much is it? $400

How do I register? Email wed@doubleknotphotography.com to sign up! A $200 deposit is required to reserve your spot! Final payment is due 2 weeks before the workshop!

What do I bring? Bring all of your camera gear and a laptop (if you want)!

Will we eat? Once you get to know us, you will realize that food is something that we NEVER forget about! We are a couple of girls who can EAT! We will provide snacks and lunch for the group! Join us at 6 for dinner at one of the cute restaurants in Granbury (dutch treat) and a great time of networking and Q&A!

melissa williamson: I hope you do this more, I am booked that day but would love to come if I wasn't!!!

Jennifer: I have training that day until 330 or i would love something like this! If you need Samuel to model i'm sure we could arrange that! :)

Bernadette: Is your workshop full?

Just a little taste…

January 28, 2010

Of what’s to come:

  • There are only 4 DAYS until the super secret (not so secret) LAUNCH! Keep your eyes peeled for some fun surprises! I (WE) cannot wait to show you and give away PRIZES!
  • There are only 17 Days until Valentines Day. Guys, you’d better get the ol’ wheel turnin’. You don’t want to disappoint your lady, do you?
  • I’ve got a GREAT engagement idea for any guy that needs a little help! (Some guys just aren’t blessed in the creative area… so why not use the help if it’s offered, right?). If you take me up on the idea, I’ll give you a HEFTY discount on a photo session. You’re welcome. :)
  • I’m also working super hard on getting all my recent weddings and portrait sessions post processed…  I will soon be able to blog the cutest little 1 year old baby… but for now, how about a little taste?

Oh, and by the way, only 7 more days until you know what we’ve been up to and can enter to win some FUN PRIZES (you have to come back to see what they are). Here’s a little peek at something to come!

And the infamous Sam Randles Experience. Sam and his band played at my wedding and did such an amazing job. Seriously, they are the PERFECT wedding band! It was so great to see them again!ldwed48s

The toast was SO sweet! And note the chocolate on the little boy standing to the right of Drew. He has chocolate all over his shirt from the chocolate fountain. I  LOVE IT!ldwed50s

To me, this is the epitome of man and wife. The woman gives her opinion, and the man chooses whether or not to take it. In this case… well, you see…. heheldwed52s

And the grand finale… instead of bubbles or rice…. they had fake snow. It looked awesome, but I was really nervous it was going to get all in my camera and make it stop working. It seriously was so fine that it looked like we all had really bad dandruff at the end of the night! It made for some awesome pictures, though!ldwed53s

And brides and grooms, if you ever want to know what your parents look like at the end of your wedding when you are being whisked away to your hotel… check this out!ldwed54s

Chris & Jessica: Engagement

November 12, 2009

I’m so excited about shooting Jessica and Chris’ wedding. They are getting married in a Castle. Yup. A Castle in Thurber, TX! What a location, right? So, come next May, I will be driving down I20 to spend the day with the royal couple.

Jessica and Chris have a story about the way they met that is very similar to mine and Eric’s story. Eric and I “met” on Facebook. I’ll have to go into more details another day, but it’s pretty funny. Jessica and Chris “met” on AOL instant messenger. Jessica’s roommate at the time was friends with Chris and had him as a friend on AOL IM. When Jessica’s roommate wasn’t at the computer one day when Chris IM’d her, Jessica was kind enough to let him know her rommate wasn’t at home. Apparently she was so kind that Chris couldn’t stop talking to her! And the rest, they say, is history.

It was so great to spend the evening with Jessica and Chris. We had a great time running around downtown Granbury, dodging the crazy tourists and locals who swarm the square every Saturday. They are such a sweet couple and I really enjoyed watching them laugh and just be together. They are a great couple! So, thanks Jess and Chris for choosing me to document your journey to wedded bliss! I can’t wait until May, but until then, I hope you find some images that you treasure!

Crystal: We love you and Eric so much too and feel so blessed to be led by you guys in worship every Sunday morning. Yes, cory and Eric could be long lost brothers. Thank you taking our pictures again. Definitely much better weather and pictures. Thank you girl. We love you.

Nathan and Lindsey are some cool cats. A lot of times new clients will show up a little timid about having someone take their picture, but not these two. They came ready and willing to strut their stuff, and BOY did they! The first image is a picture from the beginning of the session, and doesn’t Lindsey look awesome? Get it, girl. So, the 3 of us (and Lindsey’s super cool mom) walked around the Stockyards in Ft. Worth stopping at places that pleased my photographic eye. I think we got some really great shots, if I do say so myself. :) It was so easy to photograph them. Lindsey has an infectious smile, and you just can’t help but join in with all the smiling. Nathan is such a jokester. He could make a mime laugh, I swear. So, between the two of them, I really enjoyed capturing some great candid moments. There were SOOO many of them laughing with each other, I couldn’t edit them all (this late, anyway…… notice it’s 2:30 am…. LOL!). After our session tonight, we had dinner at a fun little Mexican restaurant. It was so great getting to know a little bit about them and their story (which I will share sometime), and not to mention I enjoyed my nachos (probably too much, ha!). Nathan and Lindsey are such a great couple and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next summer.  Thank you guys for the fun tonight! Enjoy your sneak peek!
