What are little boys made of?

Frogs and snails, and puppy-dogs tails,

And such are little boys made of.

Little boys are made of lots of things, I’m not sure if it’s puppy dogs tails, but I know that it’s a whole lot of cuteness. Carson may have puppy-dog eyes opposed to tails, I think. Carson was also no amatuer at being photographed. He was the sweet little doll I photographed back in September during this family shoot. His mom and dad are so sweet and friends of ours from StoneWater, and I was so excited when Nacole asked me to photograph little Carson in honor of his first birthday! We tried a couple new locations, including a nice little laundramat (thanks Nacole for letting me run with the creative juices… lol) and I’m so excited about the way the pictures turned out. I hope ya’ll enjoy them!

I just love to hear from old friends… especially when they want me to take pictures of the important things in their lives. When Katy emailed me and told me she wanted pictures done for her baby that was about to be 1, I had this weird feeling about how “old” I’m getting. No, I’m not getting old, but I’m definitely getting older. I can’t believe how many people I went to school with are now married, have children, and have moved off to different places in the world. It’s so surreal to know that life is just flashing by. But anyway, it was SO great to see Katy (and she’s pregnant again! YIPPEE!) and to take pictures of the beautiful Ashlan.

By the way, if you are interested in getting pictures of your children done, take note of the outfits and props Katy brought. They were IDEAL! Bright colors, hats, jewelry… I love it! Thanks Katy, I hope you love the pictures!

Brandon and Deonza are a wonderful couple…. humble in nature, successful in business, and extremely happy as a couple. I had an amazing time traveling to Frisco to shoot a Life Session for them. There were so many places to photograph, I was in love! Plus, Deonza was one of the most prepared “models” I’ve ever had. She brought 5 outfits for her and Brandon. Seriously, SO cool of her!

Oh, and not to mention, although they would never admit it (remember the humble thing…), they were both incredibly beautiful people. I mean, look at them. Just a handsome couple. Anyway, I’ll quit talking now. But, thank you, Deonza and Brandon for letting me document this time in your life. Ya’ll are amazing and I pray the best for you both!!

Charlee just turned TWO years old! She was actually a little cutie that danced the night away at Bill and Court’s wedding this past September. Her mom emailed me a few weeks ago to see if I could photograph her little girl at her birthday party! Well, of course! This is an ideal situation for parents who LOVE pictures, but don’t want to be responsible for holding the camera and capturing every moment of the entire party … or for trying to get everyone’s pictures while trying to be the host! I really had fun capturing the party (and got to eat some DELICIOUS cake!) while Charlee, family, and friends all enjoyed celebrating and having fun together! I have an official new “Category” of photography sessions. I would like to introduce: the Life Session. A life session is simply a photoshoot that celebrates who you are right now in life. You don’t have to have a special reason to get pictures done… like a wedding, a pregnancy, or for Christmas. That’s because we all need to enjoy the every day occurrences of life. Who we are, what we are becoming, and how we are living. We should celebrate life because every day is a blessing.

Lauren knows what it’s all about. She’s graduating from Tarleton State University (GO TEXANS!) in December and wanted a few fun shots to celebrate this time in her life. We had a TON of fun getting different shots around the campus. Lauren is so spunky and fun, and it was great to see her again! Lauren, enjoy your sneak peek!
