Courtney: Bridal

August 31, 2009

Courtney is one amazing gal. She’s incredibly sweet with the most beautiful smile e-ver. When Courtney and I met to chat about her wedding details, I knew she was a perfect bride for me. I mean, we totally clicked, which is SO important when I’m photographing a wedding. She and her fiance Bill have been together for about 10 years. There is no doubt in either of their minds that they are meant to be - it’s been a long time coming. They are going to have a small outdoor wedding in her parent’s backyard at the end of September. The house overlooks the lake…. it has the most amazing view. And not to mention, the house itself is incredible). My mom and I were talking about how we would never get anything done with a view like that! I got to see the house already because we did her Bridal shoot there! Take a look at the beautiful girl!

Amanda: Senior

August 26, 2009

I don’t even know how to describe Amanda. She’s one girl who always keeps me on my toes. Crazy, fun, serious, silent, loud…. yes, all of them describe her. She’s got so many talents too. She’s a singer, a photographer, a painter, athletic, and so much more…. and she’s only 17. I get to meet with her about once a week to talk about God, life, and everything in between. She’s such a sweet friend (even though she seems to get me into a lot of trouble… which I’ll explain in a minute) and I was so glad I got to do her Senior pictures. Amanda, I hope you are having an AWESOME first week of your senior year!

Okay, so there’s a story behind this lovely field. After several hours of waiting at my house for the rain to stop so we could do her senior pictures, we saw some blue sky and headed out. Amanda spotted a pond that she wanted to take pictures by, so I pulled to the side of the road by a ditch. What I forgot was that because it had just rained, the ground was soft. So, I started to slide, then my tires started spinning… oh yes…. so I floored it to make it up the hill… rubber burning…. mud flying…. needless to say I finally made it back to the road. And Amanda’s words were “And the point of that was????”…. Um, yeah, the point of that was to take pictures where YOU wanted. From now on… it’s my choice. haha…. so there was a field behind the pond, I found another place to park… and we walked through the marshy ground to get there. And you know what my choice landed me? NINETY-TWO CHIGGER BITES (yes, I counted). So, trouble is what happens when I’m with Amanda. But needless to say, we got some AMAZING images from the field. Even though I had a car that looked like it went mudding and legs that looked like I had chicken-pox…. it was TOTALLY worth it. :)

Tres: Senior

August 24, 2009

Today is Tres’ first day of his Senior year. I know today he probably showed his cool, calm, and collected self and is totally rockin it on his first day! I had never met Tres before, but his mom is actually the hip grandma of these kiddos. Tres is apparently and awesome baseball player, so I’m going to have to go support him at one of his games this year!

I had a mini senior session with Tres (30 min, 1 clothes change, 1 location). It was fun and quick (sometimes best for guys who really aren’t all that into getting their pictures taken, ha!). So here’s Tres! Oh, and if you are interested in a mini-session, let me know!

Morgan Green: Hey! These are cute! I'm sure he wasn't a very cooperative MALE to photograph! And I like your comment about the abercrombie model...except...he's actually wearing clothes in his pictures ;) love your work!

The long lost field…

August 18, 2009

I’ve been looking for a good field for months now. MONTHS. I needed a field with good tall grass, a backdrop of trees, and as little amount of chiggers as possible (the 3rd qualification cannot be proven… but I could only hope). So, I got to use the field I found with the last engagement session I had.

Drew and Lensie were my Guinea Pigs. Actually, I don’t like that term…. they were the LUCKY ones who got to be FIRST to use a couple new locations I found. I love using new locations. You know what I also love? A handsome couple. I got both!! Yay! Drew and Lensie are such a fun couple. Lensie shared with me that when Drew proposed to her, she bumped heads with him. Only a fun, confident gal can share such an “intimate” moment about her and her fiance. ;)

With only one head bump during the session, I think the pictures turned out wonderfully. Thank you Drew and Lensie for letting me have so much fun with you! I can’t wait to shoot your wedding! Hope you like the sneak peek!

Kelly: Maternity

August 16, 2009

Last week, Kelly’s mom called me and asked if I could come photograph her daughter, who happened to be the most beautiful pregnant woman. I was so excited when I met her, because she has the prettiest belly. So sweet. The baby was even awake for some of the session and moved around quite a bit! Such a miracle from the Lord. Thanks so much Jean for asking me to capture you daughter’s beauty in this amazing time of her life!
