John & Adrian: Wedding

July 14, 2009

I went to high school with Adrian and John. Not to toot my own horn, but Adrian and I played on the Class 4A State Champion Volleyball team together. Oh yes. She was the setter and I played defensive specialist.  That’s right.! So, of course, I have a special place in my heart for this girl.

And then, there’s John…. also an all-star athlete in high school. He was on the football team. Not just the football team, but THE football team. Yup. Where I come from, it’s ALL about football. John was a star. He still is, of course, because he’s marrying Adrian. :)

These guys decided to get married on the 4th of July and I really enjoyed getting to spend the holiday with them! Thank you both so much for asking me to document your day! I had a blast and it was great to see you both again!

Jace and JP had been dating on and off for about 6 years.  Actually, they weren’t “technically together” when Jace proposed. That’s right. But this sly young man took JP out to dinner (not an unusual occurance) and not long after dinner ended, began to pour his heart out to her in an offering of love. “Are you PROPOSING???” JP asked. She had told him that the next time they got back together, she wanted it to be forever. Jace was ready for the commitment, and JP, with her gorgeous ring, was more than delighted to oblige.

Jace and JP, thank you for inviting me out to your ranch to take your photos. The land and lakes are beautiful and made for some wonderful backdrops! Blessings to you two in your marriage!

I can’t decide which I like better??? Any opinions?

I really love the color of this one! To me, it just called for an antique wash.

THEY’RE HERE!!!

July 6, 2009

It’s Austin and Mackenzie…. my niece and nephew. They live in Florida and I only get to see them about twice a year. Okay, I know I say this every time I see them, but this time I REALLY mean it. THEY’RE HUUUGGGEEE!!! Seriously, they need to stop growing. Too big, I tell ya. Anyway, I’m so happy to see them again. I got the camera out the other day and they let me take a few pictures… so here are the dolls. :)

I love this series of Mackenzie and her crazy girl emotions. Girls, doesn’t this just sum it up for us?

Nathan and Lindsey are some cool cats. A lot of times new clients will show up a little timid about having someone take their picture, but not these two. They came ready and willing to strut their stuff, and BOY did they! The first image is a picture from the beginning of the session, and doesn’t Lindsey look awesome? Get it, girl. So, the 3 of us (and Lindsey’s super cool mom) walked around the Stockyards in Ft. Worth stopping at places that pleased my photographic eye. I think we got some really great shots, if I do say so myself. :) It was so easy to photograph them. Lindsey has an infectious smile, and you just can’t help but join in with all the smiling. Nathan is such a jokester. He could make a mime laugh, I swear. So, between the two of them, I really enjoyed capturing some great candid moments. There were SOOO many of them laughing with each other, I couldn’t edit them all (this late, anyway…… notice it’s 2:30 am…. LOL!). After our session tonight, we had dinner at a fun little Mexican restaurant. It was so great getting to know a little bit about them and their story (which I will share sometime), and not to mention I enjoyed my nachos (probably too much, ha!). Nathan and Lindsey are such a great couple and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next summer.  Thank you guys for the fun tonight! Enjoy your sneak peek!
